Michael C. Shklar, Esq.
Michael was admitted to practice law in New Hampshire in 1985 following his graduation from Case Western Reserve University School of Law (J.D.1985) and Carleton College (B.A.1982). He is also admitted to practice before the Federal Courts in New Hampshire and Vermont, as well as the First Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Michael has served as a Governor of the New Hampshire Bar Association and received several awards for pro bono service. Mr. Shklar is also recognized as a Child Welfare Law Specialist by the New Hampshire Supreme Court, where he has presented a number of cases. His practice is concentrated (in no particular order) in the areas of Bankruptcy Law, State and Federal Criminal Defense, Juvenile Law, Social Security Law, Probate Law, and General Civil Practice. He is also certified as a Guardian Ad Litem. He serves as Counsel for the Town of Lempster and has been elected as the Town Moderator for many years and serves as counsel for a domestic violence prevention agency. On those (rare) occasions he is not in his office, he, his books, his cats, his cooking supplies and his wife of 30 years live happily in the "middle of nowhere". He is known as a bit of a "Civil War nut" due to his being a Deputy Vice-Commander in the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
